Flitwick History - Places

This area will feature buildings like The Library, The Rufus Centre and Flitwick Village Hall

From a small hamlet in the Doomsday Book, Flitwick has developed area by area, decade after decade. We want to capture as much about each area as possible. Can you help?

There are a number of key buildings in the town (e.g. Flitwick Mill, Flitwick Manor). Do you know any we need to add?

There are many organisations that exist in the Town, some longstanding like The Royal British Legion and Flitwick Gardeners Association. Let us know who else we should add?

The town has some great green spaces (e.g Manor Park, Flitwick Woods, Flitwick Moor, The Nature Park). Do you have pictures or stories about them that we can add?

The focus of this section is buildings past and present where townsfolk have worshipped (e.g St Peters & St Pauls, The Methodist Chapel, The Baptist Church etc) . Is there somewhere we have missed?

Education in the area is provided by a range of schools. Do you have any stories or photos about past teachers, pupils or classes that we can include?

While the retail areas of the town are limited, many of the same buildings have changed use over time. Do you have any stories or photos of businesses past and present we should capture?

The area has a wealth of sporting clubs and teams within its bounds (e.g. The Cricket Club, Bowls Club, The Football Centre, The Tennis Club)

The Railway Station which has a long and rich history. More recently the adjacent Interchange is a focus for getting to and from where people need to be. Do you have any stories about other forms of transport (road, car, cycle, bus or coach services etc) in the area?

The area is home to many well attended youth organisations. Do you have information on any past and present that we can include?
