Residents gather in the newly named Flitwick Town Square for the 2nd Annual Lights Switch-on Event, MC’d by Mayor Andy Snape.
The lights were switched on by xxx aged x who won a competition to plunge Flitwick into Christmas fever. Councillors served mulled wine and mince pies to raise money for the Mayors charities x and x.
Naughty Elf, Santa and Festive Stilt walkers were on hand to greet residents young and old.
Ampthill Town Band provided the festive tunes, lustily sung by hundreds of residents using FTC handily supplied lyric sheets.
All in all a great way to kick off Christmas in the Town
